Planning Help
We suggest you plan 8-10 weeks in advance so you are more likely to
achieve the party you desire. Planning a party that includes kids and
critters often takes extra time. Some feel that is too far ahead, but in
todays fast paced world every one's schedule seems to book up fast!!  
Although it is not impossible to get your pony party
put together in a shorter amount of time, at Pony-Up Pony Parties we
often book up quick so it is best to get
those deposits as soon as possible so we can assure you the party you
want.  While it is true that we have helped
some folks put together a party in less than 2 weeks, it is best to
have plenty of planning time.  We will need this
extra time if you are desiring costumes on the ponies.


  • 8-10 weeks in advance: Call us here at Pony-Up Pony Parties to
    set the date;  Choose a location and place reservations, if
    different than your home. Start gathering names and addresses
    for the guest list.  Start thinking and looking for various birthday
    party ideas. Our Ponies can work any where, but if you feel your
    house and yard are too small, consider going to a park or other
    location.  Parks are nice, but you might want to make sure to
    reserve a spot that has ample parking for our van and trailer.  
    Often times parks have covered picnic areas which work great for
    unexpected showers. Start looking for horse related items


  • 4-6 weeks in advance:  Purchase invitations, OR use our free
    down loadable invitations Here  or Here  and start getting them
    addressed.  Or you could use the FREE birthday ecard www.
    123greetings.com .   Make sure all deposits have been made.
    Begin planning additional activities, if you are planning other
    entertainment,  and plan when they will happen.  Ponies and
    horses are so much fun that they usually dominate the party
    while they are there so if you do have other birthday party ideas,
    keep that in mind.  We have found that many of the children are
    so excited about the ponies that the other activities just don't
    happen.  So you might think about one other activity and possibly
    book a brushing pony.  Brushing ponies are a great addition to
    the fun as they help the more timid child and more than one child
    can be entertained at a time.


  • 3 -4 weeks in advance: mail invitations  and begin purchasing
    party supplies; such as plates, cups, decorations and such.  Make
    out the menu and grocery lists.


  • 1-2 weeks in advance: make sure you have all the items you will
    need for the party. Call all the guests who have not yet RSVP'ed
    to determine the final head count.


  • 2-3 days in advance: buy food needed for party.  Make any of
    the dishes you can now.  Have final payments ready for Ponies


  • Day before: Clean up, set up and finish preparing any of the food.
